Description
No. 1 Manor Road is a farmhouse and barn that form a continuous range, dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared rubble with a pantile roof and stone slate verges. It features two coped gables with kneelers, a single ridge, and a single gable stack. The structure is two storeys high and consists of five bays.
The south front includes, on the left, an adjoining gabled pigsty that has a hatch in its west gable and a boundary wall with two openings. To the right is the barn, which has a slatted casement and, further right, two close boarded doors. The house, located to the right of the barn, features a close boarded door flanked by a single 20th-century casement on each side, followed by another similar door. Further right, there is a small stone lean-to.
Above the house, there are three 19th-century casements, two of which have segmental heads. The rear lean-to includes, on the west side, a barred casement with a segmental head. The rear elevation shows, to the right, a hatch flanked by single casements, with the right casement featuring a timber lintel. Above this, there is a pitch hole.
