Description

Warsop Mill is a water mill built in 1767, with two storey additions at each end added in the early 19th century. The structure is made of dressed stone and features an asbestos cement roof. It has a partial string course and sill band, and consists of two storeys plus garrets, arranged in six bays. The windows are primarily flush mullioned casements, and both the windows and the door have heavy rockfaced architraves.

On the west front, to the left, there is a round-headed wheel opening. To the right of this opening, a door with a datestone in the lintel inscribed '1767' is flanked by single casements. Further to the right, there are two casements and an external stone stair. Above these, to the left, are three mullioned casements, and to their right are two 19th-century casements and a close-boarded door. The south gable features a close-boarded door with a segmental head to the left, and each gable has a semi-circular window in the garret.

At the rear of the mill, there are small lean-to additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The adjoining boundary walls to the north and south are made of dressed stone with half-round copings and have four 20th-century square piers, measuring approximately 45 meters and 30 meters long. Inside, the mill has a mid-19th-century kingpost roof and features mid and late 19th-century roller mill and processing machinery, along with an early 20th-century water turbine.
