Description
Nos. 7 and 9 Toothill Lane is a house that has been converted into two shops. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century as well as in the early and late 20th century. The building features sham timber-framing with rendered nogging, which may be concealing authentic timber-framing. The right gable is rendered, and the roof is steeply pitched with concrete tiles.
The structure is two storeys high and has a two-window range of margin-light sash windows. Below these, there are two early 20th-century wooden shop fronts, each with single windows and glazed doors, with the right shop front being recessed. Shaped brackets support the fascias. Between the two shop fronts, there is an entry doorway. The right gable also has an early 20th-century shop window to the left, framed in wood with a fascia above. This building is included for its group value.
