Description

This is an 18th-century building of three storeys, situated on the west side of Moorgate. The exterior is brick with a Welsh slate roof, featuring stone-coped gable ends with kneelers and stacks. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the top. The building has three windows on each floor, with flush frames containing hung sash windows with glazing bars. Brick voussoirs with keystones surround the windows. The ground floor windows are set within moulded surrounds with cornices. A doorway has attached columns, a frieze, and a cornice, leading to a door consisting of six fielded panels, beneath a radiating fanlight, accessed via two steps. A stone plinth is located on the right-hand side of the building. The building forms a group with numbers 53 to 57.
