Description
39 and 41 Moorgate is a mid-18th century building that stands two storeys high, constructed from painted brick with a pantile roof. The facade features five windows with later glazing bars and is accented by end brick pilasters. The parapet has been cut down and now has modern brick capping, along with four recessed panels and a semi-circular lunette. The first floor displays five windows with replaced glazing bars, and the central section of the building breaks forward. There are brick bands present, but the cornice is missing. The ground floor has three windows and a door set in a recessed wooden case, which is topped with an open pediment and a round-headed architrave. This door has six panels and is located beneath a fanlight. To the right, there is another door in a moulded surround with a plain frieze and cornice. The gable end features tumbled brickwork. Nos 33 to 45 (odd) form a group, with No 33 being of local interest.
