Description
12 Moorgate and 14 Moorgate, known as the Black Boy Public House, is an early 19th-century building. It is three storeys high, constructed of brick with a pantile roof and a brick eaves cornice, while the public house section is rendered. Number 12 features two brick chimney stacks and has two segmental-headed windows on each floor, which are hung sashes with glazing bars. The entrance has plain pilasters and an entablature, with a three-light rectangular fanlight above a six-panel door that is accessed by three stone steps. The Black Boy Public House has three segmental-headed windows, with glazing bars only on the top floor. The ground floor includes two modern windows and a door, along with an elliptical carriage entry to the right. This building forms a group with Nos 18 to 24 (even), of which Nos 18 to 22 (even) are considered buildings of local interest.
