Description

No. 43 Moorgate is a building that likely dates from the early 18th century, although most of its details are from the early 19th century and modern times. It has two storeys and is rendered, with three windows featuring modern glazing. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there is a central rebuilt stack. A 19th-century wooden cornice with paired modillions adorns the top. The ground floor has a recessed modern door set in a narrow rectangular grooved case with a cornice above. To the left, there is a frieze and cornice above a six-light window, which is modern. To the right, there is one window in a moulded surround, also with modern glazing. Nos. 33 to 45 (odd) form a group, with No. 33 being of local interest.
