Description
New Farm House and The Stables is a farmhouse built around 1790. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. The building has a plinth, first floor and eaves bands, rendered eaves, stone sills, and two gable stacks. It stands two storeys plus garrets and has four bays in an L-plan layout. The windows were altered in the 19th century and now consist of plain sashes with segmental rubbed brick heads. The south front has a central 19th-century door with an overlight, flanked by single windows and a blocked opening to the right. Above this, there are two windows and two blocked openings. The west gable features a single Yorkshire sash on each floor and an additional single light above.
Adjoining the farmhouse is the stable, which dates from the 19th century. It is also built of brick and has a pantile roof with cogged eaves and a single ridge stack. The stable is two storeys high and has three bays. On the west side, there is a stable door flanked by single casement windows. To the right, there are stone and brick stairs, followed by a window with a segmental head, and further right, a 20th-century opening with a timber lintel. Above, there is a plank door flanked by single Yorkshire sashes.
