Description
Diamond House is a former school that has been converted into a house, originally built in 1691 with later additions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features a steeply pitched pantile roof. Notable architectural details include ashlar dressings, a first-floor band, cogged and dentillated eaves, and tumbled coped gables. It is two storeys high with three bays and a double range plan, and it has four gable stacks.
The east front of the building features a central recessed panelled doorcase with an overlight, a corniced keystone, and a rubbed brick head. This doorcase is flanked by single plain sash windows, also with rubbed brick heads. Above the door, there is a central detached segmental pediment, and further up, three plain sashes with shallow rubbed brick heads. To the right, there is a projecting single bay addition from the 18th century, which was raised in the 20th century, made of brick with a flat roof and also two storeys high. The rear elevation has two segmental-headed glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads, and above these, there are two fixed lights with glazing bars.
