Description

No. 116 Bridge Street is a former bank, now a shop, built in 1900. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a plain tile roof with a hipped gable at the front. It has a plinth, a lintel band, two decorative bands, a moulded first floor band, and a cornice adorned with an egg and dart motif. The structure is three storeys high, plus attics, and consists of four bays.

The ground floor is rusticated and includes a large central elliptical-headed window with a mask keystone, flanked by two segmental-headed doorways that contain plate glass windows, each topped with shouldered pediments featuring Arms. Above this, there are four casement windows with arched glazing bars and moulded hoods, followed by another row of four mullioned casements that have moulded architraves, aprons, broken pulvinated friezes, and shouldered pediments. At the top, there is a central gabled dormer with a three-light casement. To the right, there is a stairwell with a decorative corbel inscribed '1900', and above it, two small casements with moulded hoods.
