Description
No. 3 Market Street is a former bank, now disused, that dates back to 1889. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It features a plinth and is a single storey with attics. On the left side, there is an ashlar doorcase with plain pilasters and a pediment supported by fluted curved brackets. The entrance has a 6-panel door with a leaded glazed segment-headed overlight. To the right, there is an elliptical-arched window with a moulded surround, keystone, and imposts, which includes single-pane glazing with a transom and toplight. Above the moulded main cornice, there is a large central dormer with a shouldered shaped coped gable and cornice, topped with a pedimented datestone and flanked by a coped parapet. The dormer contains a single segment-headed plain sash window.
