Description

Norwood Cottage is an early 17th-century cottage with an 18th-century extension and later alterations. It is built with roughcast, and was originally timber-framed. The roof is covered in pantiles, with a single external gable and ridge stacks. A right gable stack has been removed, and the right gable is raised with slate coping. The cottage is single-storey plus attic, and originally comprised four bays, the left bay being a single cell cottage. It features a doorway with a part-glazed door, two glazing bar Yorkshire sash windows to the left, and a smaller, similar sash window to the right. Segmental projecting rendered lintels are above all the openings. Two box dormers with single glazing bar Yorkshire sashes are in the attic. A lean-to extension is at the rear. Inside, there are many beams and a post and wall plate.
