Description
Vernon House is a cottage that was formerly a public house, built in the mid-18th century with an early 19th-century extension. It features whitewashed brick and a pantile roof, with two gable stacks and one ridge stack. The building has an eaves band and is set on a plinth. It is two storeys tall and has five bays, with the rightmost single bay being higher and dating from the early 19th century. From left to right, the façade includes a single tripartite glazing bar Yorkshire sash, a doorway with a wooden door and overlight, another similar sash, a blocked opening, and a final similar sash. Above these, there is a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash, with a blind recessed panel to the right and two more similar sashes further right. All openings and the panel are topped with segmental arches. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension.
