Description
The Lady Well is a well head, archway, and trough located on Ladywell Lane in Nether Headon. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. The well features a small round arch made of red brick from the 19th century, which is set over a spring and into the bank side. The arch has a central re-used ashlar keystone inscribed with "HW 1718". At the base, there is a stone sill, and a single projecting stone trough. Although it is said to be of medieval origin, the well is situated at the base of a bank of an ancient holloway.
