Description
The lych gate and boundary wall at the Church of St. Helen were built in the late 19th century. The structure is made of snecked dressed stone with chamfered ashlar coping, featuring a timber frame and a hipped pantile roof. The lych gate has three square timber posts on each side, with the outer posts inclined, creating panels that have depressed ogee heads. There is a pair of oak gates with inclined pales. The boundary wall runs along Main Street and to the north of the churchyard, featuring ramped coping and a curved and shouldered design at the lych gate. It includes three square piers with chamfered bases and pyramidal caps, and is approximately 150 meters long. This structure is included for its group value.
