Description

This is a mid-18th century pigeoncote, situated on the east side of Plantation Road in East Markham. The building is constructed of red brick with a rubble plinth and has a pantile roof. The gables are raised and brick-coped, with kneelers. It is a single-bay structure of two storeys plus a garret. A band runs around the first floor. A wooden plank door is set at ground floor level. Above it, breaking through the first floor band, is a doorway with a wooden plank door and a glazing bar overlight. The garret has blocked pigeon entrances. Inside, brick nesting boxes extend from floor to ceiling on all four sides.
