Description

The lychgate at the Church of St Michael was built in 1890 and designed by J A Chatwin for Earl Cowper. It is constructed from ashlar and timber, featuring a hipped and cross-gabled plain tile roof. The walls are topped with chamfered coping. The timber post framework supports a principal rafter roof with collars and struts. The gable openings are adorned with arch braces and bargeboards, and there is a gable cross. The entrance includes a pair of spike-top gates.
