Description
Hunt's Hill Cottages are a pair of cottages built in 1877 by E. W. Godwin for Earl Cowper. They are constructed of brick with a plain tile roof and feature a battered plinth. The cottages are two storeys high with three bays and have two gable stacks and a single ridge stack. At the rear, there is a gabled single storey wing. The windows consist of mullioned glazing bar casements and sashes with segmental heads.
On the street front, to the left, there is a mid-20th century single storey addition. To the right of this addition are two doors with segmental heads, the left door having a weatherboarded hood, flanked by single casements. Above these doors, there are two sashes, and to their right is a datestone inscribed 'C. 1877'. Further right, there is a tile hung cross eaves gabled dormer. The southeast end features two sashes above. The rear elevation has a tile hung cross eaves gabled dormer to the left and a similar catslide roofed dormer to the right. These cottages are part of a collection of farmhouses and estate cottages that E. W. Godwin designed for Earl Cowper between 1872 and 1878.
