2/2 Lychgate and wall at Old Church House

Former lychgate, now gateway and wall, 1862: By J. Croft of Islington. Ashlar and rockfaced limestone with plain tile roof having shaped timber bargeboard. Central pointed archway with decorative motifs on the voussoirs, flanked by battered buttresses supporting capitals, with floral decoration. To either side are square pinnacles with facetted knops. The low rock faced churchyard wall has battered piers with carved octofoil caps and at the corners are plain gabled pinnacles. Between the piers are plain iron railings.
