Former RAF Faldingworth atomic bomb store: bomb testing building

The former RAF Faldingworth atomic bomb store includes a bomb testing building dating to the early 1950s. It has an overall inverted T-plan footprint and is oriented northwest-southeast, featuring narrower entrance bays at either end and a projecting wing on the northeast side.

Constructed with a reinforced concrete frame and roof, the building has breeze block infill. It is a tall single-storey structure with a flat roof. Large entrances at both ends are fitted with timber horizontal roller doors. Beyond these doors lies the spacious testing area, which previously housed X-ray equipment and is now used for storage. The ventilation and plant room is situated on the northeast side of the building.
