Description
Nos 1 and 3 on Stow Road is a house built in the early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It features a chequered pattern of red and cream brick and has a pantile roof that is hipped to the north, with one hip stack and one ridge stack. The building is two stories tall and has a three-bay front. The central doorway is adorned with a small hood and a reeded doorcase that includes human heads in each angle block. Above the door is a traceried rectangular overlight and a panelled led door. The doorway is flanked by two windows; to the right is a 20th-century fixed light with an upper casement, and to the left is a glazing bar sash. On the upper floor, there are three windows: a 20th-century fixed light with an upper casement to the right and two glazing bar sashes to the left. All windows have segmental heads. This building is included for its group value only.
