Description

Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with 19th-century elements, possibly built on 16th-century foundations. It is constructed of colourwashed red brick and features pantile roofs with two large cruciform ridge stacks, forming an H plan.

The building has two storeys with a plinth and a first-floor band. The south front has three bays, with a central doorway that has a segmental head, a rectangular overlight, and a panelled door. This doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes and a blind central opening, both with segmental heads. The east front consists of five irregular bays, with the outer bays projecting forward. The left bay has an upper blind opening with a segmental head, while the right bay features the lower sections of a projecting stack. The central doorway here has a plain doorcase and a plank door, flanked by single glazing bar sashes, with a single glazing bar sash above and a blind opening to the right.

Inside, there is a large 17th-century panel with a 20th-century fireplace inserted beneath it. The panel is carved with two tiers of ornate arches, each featuring a large thistle and divided by clusters of turned, baluster-type columns. Upstairs, there is an oak bolection-moulded fireplace with an upper plain pilastered panel. The cellar dates from the 18th century.

Surrounding the garden is a brick wall on three sides, which has narrow pilaster buttresses and a single round opening in the south wall.
