Description

The Sunday School, built in 1878, is constructed of yellow brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with lead dressings. It has one brick wall stack and is designed as a rectangular block with a lower entrance porch facing the road. The west front showcases a central three-centred doorway that is sheltered by a gabled porch. This porch has an outer pointed doorway with a hoodmould and facetted reveals. The gable is adorned with a carved bargeboard and a finial. Above the door, there is a carved panel featuring the Anderson cypher, a coronet, and the date 1878. The main gable also displays a carved bargeboard with a finial. At the east end of the building, a small bell cote, designed as a leaded fleche, rises above the ridge. The Sunday School is listed for its group value only.
