Description

The Monument to Dog, built in 1833, is located in Brocklesby Park. This monument is made of Coade stone and takes the form of an urn set on a square pedestal. The pedestal rises from a plain square base and features a moulded plinth. Each side of the pedestal has a single patera, and one side bears the inscription: "Under this urn lies buried Dec 17th, 1833 a faithful and favourite dog, Old Windham." The urn is positioned on a swept base and is adorned with decorative swags, scrolls, and lion's head handle fixings.
