Description

North East Lodge is a gate lodge built in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with two triple tunnelled moulded brick ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-bay front, with the central bay being advanced and topped with a gabled roof that has a carved bargeboard and a pinnacle, which matches those above the flanking first-floor windows.

The central entrance consists of a panelled door set within a three-centred archway, which is adorned with a moulded brick hoodmould. On either side of the door are single canted bay windows, each fitted with casements that have chamfered reveals and hipped slate roofs with lead dressings. Above the door, there is a canted oriel window supported by slender carved brackets, also with casements and a slate roof. This oriel window is flanked by single casements that have chamfered reveals and decorative vertical slits above. The gables of the main roof project and feature carved bargeboards.
