Description
North Lodge is a gate lodge built in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a cast-iron arcade, topped with a graduated Lakeland slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout and is a single storey with two bays. It has a plinth at the base. The right bay contains a four-panel door with a plain overlight above it, and to the right, there is a 15-pane sash window. The roof is hipped to the right and features a stepped-and-corniced ridge with stacks at the right end. The projecting left bay has a canted end, which includes paired 15-pane sashes flanked by similar single sashes, and the roof here is hip-ended. The eaves are overhanging and supported by slender columns with cast ornamental brackets above foliate caps. Additionally, there are two paired sashes on the left return of the building.
