Description

The gatescreen at the west entrance to Doxford Hall is a gate screen built in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is constructed from tooled ashlar and features monolith piers and end pilasters. The arched piers have roll-moulded angles and stand approximately 2 metres high. The attached walls are curved on the left and straight on the right, reaching a height of 1.5 metres and topped with low-pitched coping. The end pilasters complete the design. The rubble walls beyond the pilasters are not considered of special interest.
