Description
West Lodge is a gate lodge built in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a cast-iron arcade, topped with a green Scottish slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout and is a single storey with two bays. It has a plinth, and the right bay includes a four-panel door with a plain overlight, alongside a 15-pane sash window to the right. The roof is hipped to the right, with a stepped-and-corniced ridge and stacks at the right end. The projecting left bay has a canted end, featuring paired 15-pane sashes flanked by similar single sashes, and a hip-ended roof. The eaves overhang, supported by slender columns, have cast ornamental brackets above foliate caps. There are also two paired sashes on the left return.
