Description
North Lodge is a gate lodge built around 1870. It is constructed from rendered and white-washed brick with applied timber framing and stands two storeys tall. The entrance front has two bays, featuring a gabled open porch to the right of the centre. To the left of the porch are three ground floor cross-windows, and to the right is one cross-window, all with stone sills. The first floor has a row of panels with small framing at the lower level, and two gabled dormers on the right, which have coved eaves and decorative timbering in their gables.
To the right, there are 20th-century additions that match the original style, consisting of two further bays with three ground floor cross-windows. On the left side, there is a canted oriel window on the ground floor, supported by decorated brackets. This oriel has two central lights with a semi-circular window above and single light windows at the angles. The building has a hipped roof, and the lower level of the first floor features decorative timber framing with a five-light casement window. The gable includes decorative framing with a quatrefoil and heavily decorated bargeboards.
