Description
The Smithy is a house built around 1860, constructed of red random bond brick and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features a symmetrical entrance front with three bays. The central bay projects slightly and has a blocked basket-headed archway at ground level, supported by ashlar springers and brick voussoirs. On either side of this central bay are three-light, cambered-headed windows on the ground floor, with similar windows above on the first floor. The central bay on the first floor is timber framed and slightly jettied, featuring a three-light casement window in the centre and decorative timber framing in the gable.
