Description

The Village School is an early to mid 19th century building made of grey gault brick. It is a single-storey structure featuring four windows, which have casements with small panes in the upper sections. The front of the building has two gabled porches; the west porch is dated 1841 and the east porch is dated 1871, although the west porch is currently blocked. The windows are adorned with square hood moulds, while the doorways have 4-centred arched hood moulds. The roof is covered with slate and includes a central clock tower with a belfry. The clock face is located on the south side, and there are louvres on the east and west sides of the belfry. The tower is topped with a small pyramid slate roof and a vane.
