Description
The Village Hall, originally a school, was built in 1870. It features red brick construction with blue brick bands, along with ashlar and terracotta dressings. The roof is made of patterned slate, with raised stone coped gables and moulded kneelers, and there is a single wall stack at the rear. The front has three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting and gabled. This bay has a plinth and two moulded brick eaves courses.
In the central bay, there is a two-light window with plate tracery and a quatrefoil above, all set in a pointed arch. Above this window, there is a cross made of blue brick. The central bay is flanked by two single two-light windows with shaped heads. All the windows are timber casements. To the left, there is a lower single bay porch with a pent roof, featuring a planked 19th-century door, decorative iron hinges, and a shaped surround with a polychromatic relieving arch and a blue brick band. The date "1870" is inscribed in the lintel.
