Description

The road bridge carrying Main Street over the River Witham was built in 1903. It is constructed of ashlar and blue brick and features a single segmental blue brick arch with faceted keystones. The bridge has a string course and coped parapet walls, which are adorned with square piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. On the southeast side, it is linked to the northwestern boundary wall of Belton Park. This bridge is one of several estate buildings commissioned by the third Earl Brownlow, who was active from 1867 to 1921.
