Description
A pair of houses on High Street, Colsterworth, dating from the 17th century, with substantial alterations in the early 19th and 20th centuries. The houses are built of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and stucco dressings. They have a slate roof with a moulded fascia, and two gable stacks in ashlar, with one originally external and now partly incorporated into the gable wall. A single ridge stack has an ashlar plinth, and a yellow brick stack.
The houses are two storeys with a garret, and have a three-bay front. The central entrance is an off-centre half-glazed door with a reeded surround and flat hood, flanked by single margin lights. To the left is a 20th-century three-light bay window and glazed door, both under a flat felted roof. The first floor has three margin lights. All the sash windows have splayed stucco lintels and keystones. Set at eaves level on the front of the projecting stack in the left-hand gable is a 15th-century human head corbel.
