Description

The Former Reading Room and Library, now no longer in use, was built in 1830 and endowed by Christopher Turnor of Stoke Rochford Hall. It features squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a pantile roof. There is a later red brick rear wing with an asbestos roof. The building is L-shaped and single storey, with a three-bay front that includes three glazing bar sash windows, each with flat ashlar lintels. There is a similar window on the gable end, and above it, a datestone displays "CT 1830" in raised lettering.
