Description

This is an early 18th-century house, with a refronting dating to the early 19th century, incorporating gateways to the left and right of the main building. The house is constructed of squared limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a Collyweston slate roof, raised stone coped gables, and two stone gable stacks with moulded cornices. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with a two-storey main block featuring a three-bay front. Features include a plain plinth, two flush bands, a moulded cornice, and a panelled parapet. The central entrance has a panelled door with a plain overlight, panelled reveals, and is sheltered by a Tuscan portico with columns in antis, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice. Flanking the portico are single glazing bar sashes. Above are three similar windows, with the central one having a moulded stone architrave. The roof has two gabled dormers with leaded cheeks. To the left of the house is a segmental archway with planked double doors and moulded imposts, featuring columns in antis. Above sits a moulded cornice and panelled parapet, topped with ball finials. A pair of square gate piers, each with moulded cornices and coped tops, mark the boundary to the right.
