Description

These are former offices, dating from around 1850, originally associated with the Maltings. They are constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roofs are slate, with raised stone copings to the gables and two ashlar gable stacks. The building is in an L-shape.

The two-storey, seven-bay front has the three bays on the left arranged with a recessed central bay, featuring cill bands and a hood, a pinnacled gable, and stepped parapets. A central open Tudor-style archway provides vehicular access, with planked double doors. To the left is a tripartite doorway containing a planked pointed door flanked by single cusped ogee lights, with seaweed carvings in the spandrels and a plain overlight, which is flanked by single three-light mullioned and transomed windows with cusped heads to the lights. On the first floor is a single cusped light, flanked by single triple windows. Above the central archway is a simple three-light louvred opening and a gable. To the right is a central Tudor-arched planked door with a chamfered surround and moulded hood, flanked by single two-light mullioned windows. The upper floors each have three similar windows, the uppermost being louvred. A corbelled wall stack is set diagonally at the top left.
