Description
129 Eastgate is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame and brick construction, which is mostly rendered and colourwashed. It has a 20th-century concrete pantile roof and a single gable wall stack. The house is two storeys high and has a two-bay, lobby-entry layout. The central doorway has a four-panel door, with a four-pane sash window to the right and a six-pane sash window to the left. Above the doorway, there are two glazing bar sliding sashes. To the left, there is a lean-to addition with a 20th-century casement window. Inside, the house retains the former rear wall of exposed timber framing, spine beams, an inglenook fireplace, and the original winder staircase.
