Description

No. 1 The Market Place is a cottage located on the west side of Folkingham, dating from the early 18th century, with some early 19th and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and red brick, topped with a pantile roof that features decorated eaves and a single ridge stack. The early 18th-century ironstone ground floor has been raised and extended in brick on the left side. The cottage has a two-storey, two-bay front with a doorway on the right that has a wooden lintel and a panelled door. To the left of the door is a glazing bar sash window with a wooden lintel, and there is another glazing bar sash window above. The south gable end has 20th-century windows.
