Description
The smithy and stable range at Home Farm is an early 19th-century structure. It is built from squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and features slate roofs with a single red brick wall stack. The building is arranged in an L-plan. The smithy, which is a single storey and three bays wide, is positioned at right angles to the taller single storey, seven bay stable range. The smithy has a large central sliding door, with single planked doors on either side. The stable range includes a planked door on the right, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows, and a planked stable door on the left, next to another planked stable door with an overlight set in a wider blocked opening, also flanked by single glazing bar sashes. All openings feature timber lintels.
