Description

The Kennel Master's House is an estate cottage built around 1868 for Christopher Turnor. It is constructed from squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The slate roof has raised stone coped gables and kneelers, with a central ashlar stack that has paired shafts and a cornice. The building has a T-plan layout and is two stories tall with a three-bay front. The right-hand bay is advanced and has a separate gable. The central entrance is a half-glazed door flanked by single two-light casement windows. On the first floor, there are three similar windows, with two on the left set in gabled eaves dormers. All windows are glazing bar casements with chamfered surrounds and mullions. The left gable features a rectangular ashlar bay with a three-light window and a hipped stone roof. Above, there is a two-light window on the first floor, and a square panel inscribed "CT 1868" is located above it.
