Description
A pair of estate cottages, now houses, was built in 1849. They were altered in the mid and late 20th century. The cottages are constructed of brick with a pantile roof and a large central brick stack with coped triple flues, the outer flues set diagonally. A first-floor band runs along the front. The cottages are two storeys high with a two-window front. Number 5, on the left, has glazing bar casements on each floor, and a 20th-century porch on the left return. Number 6 has a two-light casement window with diamond panes on the first floor, and below it, a wooden-framed three-light casement. The right return has a central entrance door flanked by single windows, the one on the left being a blank opening. These estate cottages were built to house workers on the Belton estate by the Brownlow family of Belton House.
