Description

Number 20 on High Street is a building dating from 1671, with mid-18th century alterations. It stands three storeys tall with attics, constructed in ashlar stone. The roof is a mansard style, covered with stone slates and features one cambered dormer with casements that have glazing bars. The building has two windows, each with moulded stone surrounds and small keystones, and double-hung sashes that also include glazing bars. A moulded cornice and a small parapet are present at the top. The ground floor has a shop front that dates from the 19th century and modern times. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 14 to 31 and the Public Library.
