Description
No. 53 High Street is a shop with offices above, dating from the 16th century, with later alterations. The building features coursed rubble and timber framing that is partly rendered, topped with a Collyweston slate roof. It is two stories tall with an attic. The street front has 20th-century shop fronts on the ground floor, and above are three 20th-century glazing bar sash windows. In the gable, there is a single 20th-century glazing bar sash window. The west side wall has a truncated rubble stone wall external stack. The interior retains some original timber framing and much of its original roof structure. This building is included for its group value.
