Description
54 and 55 High Street are mid-18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall with attics, constructed in ashlar stone. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and features one hipped dormer. There are two stone chimney stacks and the corners of the building have block rusticated quoins. A band runs between the storeys, and the five windows are set within moulded architraves that include a keystone, although some of the glazing bars have been removed. The first-floor windows have been cut down. The building is topped with a moulded cornice and a parapet, and there are two modern shop fronts. These buildings, along with Nos 53 to 59, Nos 61 to 65, and Nos 68 to 73, form a group.
