Description
The Mason's Arms Public House is an early 18th-century building located on the west side of South Street. It has an L-shaped design and is constructed of coursed rubble with a stucco upper storey and stone quoins. The building has been repaired and modernised over time. It stands two storeys tall with a pantile roof and features two small slate-hung gabled dormers. There are three windows with three lights, which are original sliding sashes set beneath flat arches with keystones. Additionally, there are three small bays with 19th-century windows that have lead roofs. A curved hood extends over the central doorway, which is rusticated, along with the two windows on either side, creating a shallow porch. The building also has a simple wood and wrought iron sign bracket.
