Description
The Devonshire Arms Public House is an early 19th-century building located on Station Street. It is two storeys tall, with the ground floor featuring engraved stucco and the upper floor finished in roughcast. The front has three later 19th-century sash windows without glazing bars, which are set beneath plain lintels. A sill band runs along the building, and there is a wooden pilaster doorcase that includes a plain rectangular fanlight, a cornice hood, and a flush-panelled door. The sides of the building have pseudo-quoins, and it is topped with a coped parapet that slopes on either side.
The unaltered north side of the building has three windows; the outer ones have pointed arched heads, hood moulds, and multi-paned cast iron lights featuring 'Y' glazing bars, while the central window has lozenge-pattern glazing bars. The ground floor windows have generally been altered.
