Description
No. 5 South Street is an attractive late 17th-century cottage constructed of brick, with rough render and colour-washed finish. It features a small plinth and stands two storeys tall with attics. The cottage has a mansard roof covered with old slates and includes two gabled dormers. A brick eaves cornice adds to its charm. There are three windows with segmental arches, fitted with 19th-century casements. On the ground floor, there are two chamfered bays. To the left, there is a six-panel door, four of which are glass, set beneath a segmental arch, while a modern glass door is located to the right. No. 5 South Street forms a group with Nos. 3 and the listed buildings in Market Place on the south side.
