Description

The bridge over the River Glen in Baston is a former road bridge, now bypassed, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a single elliptical arch made up of rusticated voussoirs, which are flanked by rusticated pilasters. Above the arch, there is a plain band that leads to a low coped parapet. On the west side, the keystone is adorned with a carved head of a female figure, presumably representing Kate.
