Description
Wistaria Lodge is a red brick house dated 1792, located on Church Street. It features a slate roof and a decorative cornice with modillions. The building stands three storeys tall and has stacks at the gable ends. There are five windows with segmental reveals, except for the top floor, which has flat arches made of red brick. The windows do not have glazing bars. The entrance has a wooden doorcase with a plain pediment and a rectangular Gothick glazed fanlight above a five-panel door, with the top panel being glazed. There are one-storey extensions with one window on each side of the house. Wistaria Lodge is part of a group that includes Gamlyn's Almshouses Nos 3 to 8, the former stables to No 3, and the garden wall to the south of No 4.
